Welcome to Electrical Power Engineering at Dalarna University
Welcome to the course Electrical Power Engineering (course code GEG39Y) for the autumn semester 2026.
The course is offered as part of the University Engineering Program for Sustainable Energy Systems and as an independent course. The course is given both as a campus course and as a distance course. This means that you can participate in all lectures and exercise sessions both on site at the campus in Borlänge and online. Lectures and lessons are recorded so you can take part of the recorded lectures or lessons later. The recordings will be available together with the displayed material here in Canvas under Modules.
The course which you are about to take was thoroughly revised 2024, and is now given the third time in the new status. We are a team in our department, which has been cooperating with a team of Engineers at Hitachi Energy in Ludvika to develop what we think is an up-to-date course, which presents the needed theoretical concepts, but also contains exercises, labs and simulation exercises to make your knowledge in the field prepared for engineering work. You will meet no less than five coworkers from Hitachi Energy contributing to the course this year, beside me Désirée Kroner and Rehman Zafar. There will also be a study visit to the Hitachi Energy facilities in Ludvika.
All course activities will have English as working language.
