Welcome to "Qualitative Methods" at Dalarna University
Welcome to the Qualitative Research Methods course!
During this course, you will learn what qualitative research is and how to design and conduct a qualitative study. All introductory information and assessment details are provided in the course handbook. Please read the handbook carefully before attending your first class. Reading the handbook—and ensuring you are fully aware of assessments, deadlines, and submission guidelines—is the responsibility of each student.
This course requires a substantial amount of independent study and critical thinking. Please come prepared to read the required materials and to research additional literature tailored to your specific research proposal and areas of interest.
Most of the lessons will be taught at Campus Borlänge. Recorded materials will occasionally be made available on our learning platform, and Zoom will be used for digital meetings.
We hope you engage in inspiring, interesting, and challenging discussions with your teachers and fellow students. As with all courses at Dalarna University, this module has a strong foundation in theory and research.
Given the broad scope of this subject, it is impossible to explore every topic in depth during class time; however, we hope the course inspires your interest and equips you with the tools needed for your ongoing professional development in collaboration with your colleagues.
All the best,
Prof. Jaeyeon Choe
