Welcome to " Corporate Social Responsibility in an International Perspective" at Dalarna University

The course is intended primarily for students taking the Master’s Programme at Dalarna University, but also will include some students doing it as an individual course, often within the ERASMUS exchange program.

Lectures, workshops and seminars in this course will be held at Campus Borlänge. The course is not possible to follow online.

In the course, the emergence of key concepts and different perspectives within and related to the field of CSR is covered and discussed. There will be a widening of concepts towards Sustainability as CSR has become a dated term in business, academia and society in general.

The course also covers issues on how CSR/Sustainability is applied in different situations and what role CSR/Sustainability has in relation to social, economic and legal challenges in an international perspective, with particular emphasis on climate change. The object is not to produce sustainability activists, but rather to engage in the tensions and conflicts that come about with a shift away from a resource exploitative business agenda.
We hope you engage in inspiring, interesting, and challenging discussions with your teachers and fellow students. As with all courses at Dalarna University, this course has a strong foundation in theory and research.

We view group work as an important resource in all course activities, made evident by the feedback of previous participants of the course, who highlighted the value of group discussions.
