Course syllabus
Welcome to "Portuguese: Grammar and Written proficiency I" at Dalarna University
This course will be taught online and consists of 10 seminars. All the material will be provided either through the library at Dalarna University or provided in the course room of our learning platform Canvas.
The main medium of tuition is Portuguese, but English and/or Swedish/Scandinavian will be used as a vehicular language when needed.
The seminars will start with an introduction on Tuesday 20th of October 18-19.30 and all seminars will take place on Tuesdays either from 18:00 and onwards. Most seminar will have a duration of 1 1/2 hours.
Registration for this course will take place in weeks prior to the first seminar.
You will improve your skills in the following areas: Portuguese grammar and, in particular, the adequate use verbal tenses and moods. Writing and reviewing texts. The focus is on introducing key verbal tenses of the portuguese verbal system, where we start with how to express the past and how to choose the correct past tenses, how to use the subjunctive mood, focusing on the present subjunctive and the past subjunctive.
