Outdoor Education in Science at Dalarna University

The educational value of hands-on outdoor learning in science is in focus throughout this course. Through laborative, experimental, experiential and field-based forms of work, scientific theory, phenomena and processes are studied in natural settings.

In the field-based elements of the course are health aspects of outdoor education as well as issues of responsibilities, different styles of learning and the importance of a varied outdoor environment for concentration, learning, health and motorical development treated.

During the course you will develop your pedagogical awareness and practical skills in outdoor science education.

We hope you engage in inspiring, interesting, and challenging discussions with your teachers and fellow students. As with all courses at Dalarna University, this course has a strong foundation in theory and research.
An important feature in the design of the course is that it connects theory with practice.
