Welcome to GEN2LD (English 1b) at Dalarna University!

English for Primary School Teachers 4-6, 1b is a 15 credit course that includes two 7.5credit course modules, which run in tandem: 1. Literature and Culture in English (LCE) and 2. English Language Learning and Teaching (ELLT). The course is designed to deepen your knowledge and understanding of English language and literature and culture teaching and learning. The course combines theory and scholarship along with methods and strategies for teaching in the EFL classroom. 

Obligatory online seminars will run for both course modules between weeks 14-23; a detailed schedule for the whole course will be published closer to the start of the course in week 14. Information about the course introduction will be posted in this Canvas room shortly. 

The course includes obligatory campus days where you are expected to be present on Falun campus. They will take place in week 18, on Tuesday and Wednesday, 28-29 April. Please plan to be at Falun campus by 9.00am on Tuesday until 3pm on Wednesday. 

Note that this is a full-time course, so you should plan for full-time studies.

Please review the course reading list below and make sure you acquire the course literature before the start of course - you don't need to buy all of the course literature, but you do need to have access to it for the duration of the course. Reference literature is optional. Any additional course material will typically be found under "Modules". Course materials will become available closer to the beginning of the course.
