- This course provides an overview of a selection of themes on contemporary China. We will explore processes of change and continuity in Chinese society, with a particular focus on the language perspective.
- While focusing on the post-Mao reform era (1978 to the present), we will consider how contemporary developments draw upon the legacies of the Maoist revolutions and the Republic era.
- This course will also highlight important and useful research methodologies for the student's future research projects on contemporary China.
