Course syllabus
Dear students,
In this course, you will read several, modern literary works written in both North and South America, and from several genres. You will also learn about world-literature as an approach, by attending a lecture and reading scholarly texts (e.g. journal articles and book chapters) on various theories and questions common to the concept of world literature. This concept will be used as the chief theoretical-analytical lens to be applied to reading the literary works on this course, and discussed during the obligatory seminars.
Teaching
The course offers six seminars, beginning with an interactive lecture. Each seminar is dedicated to different literary works and scholarly topics. Each seminar will include preparatory readings and pre-seminar writing tasks, which you will form the basis for your online seminar discussions with other students and the seminar teacher.
