Course syllabus
Welcome to GFÖ35C Management Accounting at Dalarna University
When you take this course, you will study the ways calculations are part of production, of planning, of decision making and of performance. But we also ask the important questions:
- What is the Value that is being planned and produced?
- For whom?
- Why?
Alot of the course work is designed to encounter challenges and promote reflective thinking.
On completion of the course, students will be able to:
- explain basic concepts and models of management accounting in particular product and investment calculations and budgeting
- make cost calculations, investment calculations and business analyses in connection with performance planning
- choose basic management accounting tools for different operations
- discuss and critically reflect on the role of management accounting in society and on its ethical aspects.
