Welcome to "Literature and Gender: Literary Theory and Criticism" at Dalarna University

The course starts in week 14 (March 31) with pre-seminar reading. Our first seminar (of five) will take place on Zoom, April 8, 13.00-14.50. Instructions for reading material and forum assignment for the first seminar will be published on Canvas in time for the course start in “Modules” / “Seminar 1”.

The general information about the course and the schedule are available in "Modules" / "Course information" folder which you reach through the left menu. 

Throughout your studies, you will use this platform for information and material and Zoom will be used for our digital seminars.

This course includes studies of fiction from different continents, with focus on
gender-theoretical questions, from both an ideological-critical as well as an aesthetical perspective. The course highlights aspects of literary theories and methods relating to gender that problematise gender, sexuality, identity and power as well as the conditions forwomen‘s creation and aesthetics.
