Welcome to Special Interest Tourism at Dalarna University!

The course deals with the relationship between contemporary tourism and social issues as well as current, world-leading tourism research. The focus of the course is on examining how the research process is built up. In seminars and workshops with different researchers, knowledge is given about different research methods and the opportunity to discuss issues such as; "How to ask contemporary tourism questions through research" and "how to evaluate the relevance of a research question?". The course provides an opportunity to get involved in current tourism research and learn about different areas within tourism research and research methods. The course introduces a wide range of research topics in the social sciences disciplines and exemplifies how the research focuses on specific problems and an in-depth analysis of relevant social issues.
