Welcome to Introduction to English Linguistics at Dalarna University! Please read everything below.

This Canvas room is both for the students registered on GEN3C4 (Introduction to English Linguistics, 15 credits) and for the students registered on GEN3CM (Engelska II med didaktisk inriktning, 30 credits). 

The date of the course introduction is 23 January, 13.00-14.45. Attendance is compulsory. If you are a campus student, the room for the introduction is Bologna (in the university library in Falun). If you are a distance student, the Zoom link for the introduction is https://du-se.zoom.us/my/samtal120

Is it OK if I am reading this on my smartphone?

What is the course book?

The course book is the 8th edition of The Study of Language by George Yule. Please get the eighth edition unless you already own a copy of another recent edition. If you do use an older edition, please note that all the page references in the course materials will be to the 8th edition.

What is the course schedule?

If you are registered on GEN3C4 (15 credits), you are a general student. Throughout the course, you will be referred to as a general student. Click here to download the timetable for general students.

If you are registered on GEN3CM (Engelska II med didaktisk inriktning, 30 credits), you are a teacher student. Throughout the course, you will be referred to as a teacher student or a teacher trainee. Click here to download the timetable for teacher trainees.
