Course syllabus
Please not that this course room is shared by two courses: “African Studies: Human Rights and Democracy in Africa South of the Sahara” (AS3015, 7 credits, full-speed), and “Human Rights and Democracy in Sub-Saharan Africa” (ARK227, 7,5 credits, half-speed).
The two courses have the same lectures and first two seminars. You also have the same Final Paper instruction. However, there are two important differences:
1. The final paper is turned in at an earlier date for full-speed students (AS3015). See the Schedule.
2. Half-speed students (ARK227) also have a mandatory Seminar 3 where they discuss each other’s Final Papers. This seminar counts for 0,5 credit: this is why AS3015 is 7 credits and ASR227 is 7,5 credits
Therefore, it is important that you remember which one of the courses that you are registered for.
Your course will be taught online via Zoom, using this link: https://du-se.zoom.us/j/68615873565
The Course Introduction is Monday 20 Jan. 16:00-17:00.
The schedule for the course is available in the Modules.
Before each seminar you are required to submit a written assignment. If you have missed seminar 1 or 2, you can make a compensation assignment once you have submitted the original assignment.
There is no compensation assignment available for Seminar 3 (which is mandatory for ARK227), although there will be a second seminar opportunity in May (see the Schedule).
Remember to register during the registration period. See Registration - Dalarna University
If you have problems with registration please contact support@du.se
Looking forward to see you on Monday 20th January.
