Welcome to Global Health at Dalarna University
Welcome to the course room for our exciting journey into global health and equality!
The course commences week 6 and ends week 11. We will start with engaging lectures, followed by interactive seminars and workshops. These sessions will cover global perspectives on sustainability, transcultural care, and healthcare theories.
Learning Outcomes: By the end of this course, you will be able to:
• Apply the definitions of global health, human equality, and gender equality as outlined in the 17 Global Goals of the UN’s Agenda 2030.
• Describe and discuss global health challenges such as poverty, epidemics, climate change, violence against specific groups in society, and migration.
• Understand the role of a nursing student in different cultural contexts.
• Explain the importance of language for communication across cultural boundaries.
Assessment: Your progress will be evaluated through written assignments and participation in seminars.
Forms of Study: Our learning methods include lectures, workshops, and seminars to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the topics. This course is an online course, using a net-based learning approach.
