Welcome to "Quantitative Method" at Dalarna University

Welcome to the course GTR2DG Quantitative Method. In the coming ten weeks, we will focus on quantitative research approach. We will start by discussing foundations of social science research, look closer on the nature of quantitative research process, and thereafter, look more in details on specific steps of the quantitative research process. Questionnaire survey, sampling, operationalization, and data analysis are some of the issues which we will focus on in the first part of the course. We will conclude the course by conducting a small research project, where you will apply in practices some of the issues discussed in the first part of the course. The course also aims to allow you to reflect on the methods available to acquire knowledge that is useful to tourism developers and managers. An important part of the course is to set different methods against each other and consider how method selection and collection methodology affect the results of the surveys.
