Course syllabus
Welcome to Thesis Course ASR25V in the Global Master's programme in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights at Dalarna University
The course runs January 20th til June 8th 2024
In this course, the student will learn how to plan, conduct, and compile a scientific study on the subject of sexual, reproductive, and perinatal health in compliance with the different components of the research process. The course also includes the defence of the degree thesis and the critical review of other student’s degree thesis.
The thesis course runs in parallel to the other courses throughout the semester. It will primarily consist of self-studies in thesis groups, pairs or individually. Supervision takes place in supervision groups. You and your peers in your thesis group will form a group together with your supervisor and two more student-thesis groups. The philosophy of the supervision groups is student-centred learning and peer review. This means that you, in a structured way, will be provided with oral feedback from peers in your group and oral and written feedback from the supervisor. Usually, the supervision groups meet every other week for a supervision meeting, with the flexibility to arrange informal Q&A sessions in between. The halftime and final examination seminars are scheduled for 12 March (halftime seminar) and June 2nd (Final examination seminar) and are held in larger groups.
More information and a timetable for supervision groups will be provided in the course introduction and found under Modules/Supervision Groups.
