Welcome to "Functional Anatomy (Climbing, Judo, and Powerlifting)" at Dalarna University
All lessons in this course will be taught online through Zoom. Recorded material will be made available on our learning platform.
This Functional Anatomy course is intended primarily for coaches and individuals with an interest in how joints, muscles and bones are structured and work together in relation to movement.
When you take this course, you will study the following:
General anatomy, structure and function of bones, joints and muscles
Structure and function of legs, trunk and arms
Relevance of functional anatomy for training and performance
We hope you engage in inspiring, interesting, and challenging discussions with your teachers and fellow students. As with all courses at Dalarna University, this course has a strong foundation in theory and research.
An important feature in the design of the course is that it connects theory with practice.
Due to the broad scope of the course, it is impossible to go into depth on all topics, but we hope that what you learn will inspire interest and help you develop the tools you need in your continued professional development as a coach.
SCHEDULE: Under the 'Modules' tab you can find a master schedule for the course. Any updates will be announced through the Announcements section.
TEXTBOOK: The course textbook is available as an e-book through the library. We will refer to an additional text book which is not available as an e-book and has both a Swedish and English version. The library has hard copies and new reprints/secondhand copies are available via online bookshops. You can also access the English version via an external online library. You will find the details in an attached file under 'Modules'. Check the book out and see if it appeals for your future use before purchasing it.
