Course syllabus

 

Welcome to the One-Year Master's Programme in English with Specialisation in Literature in English at Dalarna University

This is a one-year master's programme in English with specialisation in Literature in English. It is fully web-based with obligatory real-time online seminars for all our courses. No campus meetings are required.  

You will study literatures in English from a variety of geopolitical spaces and theoretical perspectives, including gender studies, ecocriticism, memory studies, postcolonialism and transculturality, while developing your analytical, critical-thinking and communication skills. You will also gain advanced skills in research methodology and have the opportunity to participate in active seminars and attend lectures. 

The first courses in your programme are as follows:

Full-time studies (100%): Literature and Theory (AEN25S), Migration, Climate and Anxiety in Literature in English (AEN252). In the second half of the term, you will be taking Scholarly Writing in Literary Theory and Criticism (AEN26E) and Conflict and Creativity in Literature in English (AEN29A). 

Part-time studies (50%): Literature and Theory (AEN25S). In the second half of the term, your will be taking Conflict and Creativity in Literature in English (AEN29A). Please note that part-time students only take 15 ECTS per term.
