Course syllabus

Welcome to "Japanese III: Language Proficiency Course (GJP242)" at Dalarna University!

Congratulations! You are beginning a new chapter of your Japanese studies!

Through the previous courses, you have learned the basic grammar and vocabulary necessary to build a foundation for further development of your language skills. Although you can handle daily conversations now, you may still feel insecure about using Japanese in some situations.

In this course, you will continue developing the four language skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking at the intermediate level. Throughout this semester, you will learn to use a wider range of expressions, both in speech and writing, and will also work on analysis. You will read more challenging texts and engage in discussions about various topics with your classmates. You are expected to use Japanese as the classroom language and also when you contact your teachers.

The course begins in week 36 and ends in week 03. There are no physical meetings on campus, but the course requires your attendance with a webcam and headset in web-based lessons and group work activities via "Zoom" every week.
